The mission of the Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh is to reduce the limitations that may result from the loss of vision.  The Programs and Services listed below are designed to accomplish this mission.

Community Services provides opportunities for people who are vision impaired to be assessed, trained and supported in their communities. These services include prevention of blindness through preschool vision screening, information and referral, case management, and volunteer support.

Public Education Department promotes community awareness of the agency's programs and services, and educates the community about the abilities of individuals with impaired vision.

Manufacturing Services provides employment opportunities for people who are vision impaired to manufacture quality-made products for retail sale, government and private contract work.

Rehabilitation Services provides independent living programs based on personal adjustment needs.  These programs include a residential training center, outpatient low vision services, outpatient diabetic education program and individualized computer training with adaptive technology.

Vocational Services assist people who are vision impaired and may have other disabilities to prepare for or to retain jobs in the competitive market place.  Employment Support Services helps people develop career goals, learn job skills, provide job support and training and locate jobs in the community.
