Many people who experience vision loss need a connection to services.

Case Management

Case managers work with each person and their families to develop a plan of service describing programs, costs and options.  Services at Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh as well as related community services will be discussed.  Case managers help guide each person through the choice of services, providing a link for information as well as resources, support and counseling.

Supportive Services

The goal of Supportive Services is to temporarily assist consumers who are blind or visually impaired as they learn to live as independently as possible in the community. This is accomplished through the provision of limited transportation and volunteer services for reading mail, escorts to the store or bank, or help with other limited chores.

Preschool Vision Screening

Every year Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, utilizing over 800 trained volunteers, visits school districts in Allegheny County and screens 12,000 preschool-aged children for vision problems. If you would like to know more about this program or would like to volunteer your services, please call Information and Referral at 412-368-4400.
